How to Advertise

This is how you do it.

Running a billboard isn't complicated. Our team handles the heavy lifting at every step — you bring the goal, we bring the inventory, design, install, and proof.

01

Step One

Think about what you want to promote.

The most successful billboard campaigns are about one product. Don't try to pack everything you sell onto one board — your campaign will be more impactful if you have a clear call-to-action and a focused, attention-grabbing message.

Take notes on what you want to feature with your billboard advertisement. The COMSTOR team is happy to help you decide on a focus and design the message around it.

02

Step Two

Together, we'll find the right location.

COMSTOR Outdoor has over 400 locations across Ohio and Indiana to choose from. Reach out, share the counties or cities you want to be seen in, and we'll filter our inventory down to the boards that fit your audience and budget.

Step Three

Choose your strategy.

Different campaign goals need different placements. Think about your priorities and we'll match the board:

Gateway presence

Welcome drivers entering a city or county — get the first impression.

Directional

Guide customers to a turn, exit, or specific destination.

New market entry

Build awareness in a region where you don't yet have customers.

Site-specific

Focus impressions on a single trade area or neighborhood.

04

Step Four

We'll create a strong, simple, strategic design.

Once we've found you a location, COMSTOR can help you put together the perfect design. Whether you have a finished art file or a sketch on a napkin, we'll work through it together to get something readable at 65 mph.

  • Bold typography & high contrast
  • 7 words or fewer (six is better)
  • One clear call-to-action
  • Brand color discipline
  • Logo placement that reads from distance
  • Bleed safety on every edge

Step Five

Install. Photograph. Track results.

Once you've approved the design, the COMSTOR crew posts your billboard. You'll get a photo proof of every face installed so you know exactly where and when your message went live. After that we keep an eye on the inventory and stay ready to swap copy or re-route mid-campaign if needed.

Why this process pays off

Billboards work. We have 25 years of evidence.

Reach for pennies

One of the lowest CPMs of any media. For every 1,000 people who see your message, you pay an average of just $3.75 — less than a penny per impression.

Captive audience

A billboard forces a captive audience to see your message. They cannot turn it off, close the tab, or scroll past it. You have their attention.

Built for the road

Rural areas have wide open roads — the best canvas for billboard advertising. Where you're going, billboards are how everyone gets there.

Real ROI

The Outdoor Advertising Association reports an average of $5.97 in product sales for every dollar spent on outdoor advertising in America.

Design that lands

A casual glance is all you get. Our team designs every board to be readable, memorable, and on-brand at 65 mph.

We reached out to COMSTOR Outdoor before we even opened our business as we were looking for different ways to advertise. When I first met our sales rep, I could immediately see the passion for small business and how they wanted to help. We just renewed our billboard sign with them for a second term.
